DSTU STUDENTS ARE WORKING ON CONTENT BASED ON THE RESULTS OF THE MEDIA EXPEDITION "RUSSIA – SEYCHELLES"
From June 25 up to July 9, students of the Don State Technical University as part of the Rostov-On-Don delegation have conducted a media expedition to the Seychelles Islands. The result of the trip will be published as photo-, video- and text materials.
The international project ««Russia – Seychelles» Media Expedition» is an event, which is aimed at creating and distributing youth content based on the study of the culture and traditions of the Seychelles, Rostov-on-Don’s twin city.
– "The main task of our expedition is to learn the local culture and to deliver it through the media content. Correspondingly, when the students of Seychelles come to Rostov-on-Don, we will tell them the information about the Don region, which they will also reflect in their own information materials," explained Valeria Bgantseva, head of youth media at the DSTU "Myslete Media", who has taken the lead of the delegation of the reference university.
The Seychelles was also visited by a first-year student of the Faculty of "Media Communications and Multimedia Technologies", a 3rd-year student of the same faculty Anna Shilova, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of "Agro-industrial" Maxim Shengof and a 1st-year graduate student of the Faculty of "Psychology, Pedagogy and Defectology" Natalia Demochko.
The program of the media expedition, according to its participants, was intense. The students took part in ceremonial receptions with the participation of the first persons of the city of Victoria and the Embassy of the Russian Federation, participated in the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Seychelles, visited the Republican University and the Seychelles Maritime Academy, inspected the sports infrastructure, and visited various production sites and excursions.
Now, after the trip to Seyechelles, the participants of the international project are working on photo-, video- and text materials.
The return expedition of the Seychelles delegation to Rostov-on-Don is scheduled for August-September of this year.

In December 2021, the city of Rostov-on-Don and the city of Victoria (Republic of Seychelles) have signed an agreement on twinning relations. In September 2022, as part of the celebration of the 273rd anniversary of the founding of the city of Rostov-on-Don, the first official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Seychelles to the Don capital took place, during which a sightseeing tour of the campus of the Don State Technical University took place, and agreements were reached on the preparation of agreements in the field of education and youth policy. In November 2022, as part of the second official visit, a cooperation agreement was prepared and signed with the Don State Technical University. In April 2023, as part of the next official visit, the results of a joint international scientific study with DSTU (a Scopus publication) on the effects of fertilizers from seaweed on Don agricultural crops were presented, and a presentation of the planned joint international project "Russia – Seychelles Media Expedition" was also held.
The media exhibition was held with the support of the Administration of the city of Rostov-on-Don, the Rostov-on-Don City Duma, the Don State Technical University, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Seychelles in Moscow, Moscow and Rostov regions, the non-profit youth organization «Youth Empowerment Seychelles», the administration of the city of Victoria, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Seychelles.
