Employees of DSTU joined the events in China as part of the Russian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Bella Cherkesova.
Representatives of DSTU spoke about the experience of the Rostov region's supporting higher education institution in implementing educational projects in the field of media and digital technologies.

- Participation of DSTU in such interstate events emphasises the tangible role played by our university in the development of cooperation between Russia and China on mass communications and media education, - noted Vladimir Kolodkin, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of DSTU.

The subcommittee meeting was attended by representatives of leading news agencies, TV and radio companies, newspapers and companies working in the field of communications.
According to Denis Dubover, within the framework of cooperation agreements between DSTU and universities and organisations of China, both bilateral and network cooperation in the field of education, science and culture is successfully developing.

- Since 2015, DSTU, in partnership with China Daily, has been the organiser of the New Media Forum. In 2020, the forum was held in an online format," said Denis Dubover. - As part of the forum we organise media expeditions, educational intensives on animation, in 2017 a cyber sports match between teams from Russia and China was held. Media expeditions have become a particularly significant project in the field of youth co-operation. After the pandemic, we are resuming the exchange, and the first group of students from DSTU will visit China already this autumn, and next year there will be a return visit of Chinese students to our university.

During the business trip, DSTU employees joined the SCO TV Festival, within the framework of which they visited the exhibition of broadcasting audiovisual content and technologies, as well as made presentations and took part in thematic dialogues.

- For 4 years DSTU has been organising the festival of animation projects "Magika" in cooperation with the largest animation studio in Russia - Soyuzmultfilm. As a result, agreements were reached to implement the festival in "Magica" as a permanent event of the Sub-Commission's work until 2030, as well as to conduct joint research and organise educational programmes in the field of media communications, animation and content production together with China Daily, the Animation Association of China and Peking University, - added Denis Dubover.
